By the Great Olympics,Excellent Sculptures Come...

 With the Beijing Olympics approaching, more and more sculptures about this Olympic Games come out and are showed in some famous parks. Some days ago, a sculpture called "torch relay" was exhibited at the Olympic Forest Park in Beijing. More than 80 sculptures, selected from different countries, were installed in the park to greet the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games on Aug. 8.From the nice works the designers want to express the Olympic spirit "Higher, Faster and Stronger".

 

The sculpture below is called "Passing the Olympic Flame" , one of those sculptures standing in the center of the Beijing Olympic Forest Park.

 

 

But some great pieces depict Olympic themes from another side . They’d rather want to embody the great solidarity of Chinese nation, harmony of the society and 5000-year civilization history of China. Immediately, you know it is china that will host the coming Olympics. The two below may be the best embodiment of this point.

And the followings are extremely sweet and cute. These are two of the 20 three-dimensional flower beds that appears in the street of Shenyang, July 24. These are the perfect combinations of the Olympic Games and nature. Through them the purpose of the “Green” Olympics is embodied perfectly.

 

 

Among those great pieces, some are highly praise all over the world. The sculpture “shuixiu”, inspired from the Beijing Opera, is considered as the most profound one. The powerful strength of nature, the beauty of creation and the strong character of Chinese nation, all of these elements consist of the remarkable sculpture.

 

In the September 10 opening ceremony of the 2008 Shanghai Art Expo, this excellent works will be exhibited. By then, People will be fortunate enough to have a close intimate contact with it which will have witnessed the success of the Beijing Olympics.

 

As we enjoy all these works, don’t forget that sculptures also can be a medium that brings people closer together on promoting the optimistic, positive and healthy spirit of Olympic Games as with as showing our national enthusiasm and culture. Understanding and communication are more important than the sculptures themselves.
