Frederic Lanovsky and His Floridians

Frederic Lanovsky is a contemporary sculptor. He creates modern art on a monumental scale. His sculptures are unique and one of a kind. They are extremely colorful. Sculpting is not his only talent. Frederic likes to paint watercolors as well. Let's say that modern art has always been his passion.
Born in Cannes in 1965, Frederic is 5 years old when he discovers his passion for drawing. He spends most of his school years with a paintbrush in his hand. His aspiration to become an artist never leaves him and by the time he turns 19, he enrolls in the "Beaux Arts" which is the most prestigious Art school in France.
He then moves to Paris to work as a colorist in fashion. He also paints watercolors and creates small sculptures between 12 and 16 inches high. His palette of bright colors starts to emerge and in the City of Lights his inspiration becomes evident.
Three years later, he returns to his roots in the South of France where he decides to settle.
He now envisions much larger creations. He likes space and movement. He sculpts what he entitles his "Giant" sculptures. They are made out of resin and fiberglass. His characters are joyful, charismatic and whimsical, fun and full of life. Each statue unique.
They are oversized, up to 12 feet tall. Their long arms make you feel wanted; their stunning smiles will take you on an imaginary voyage filled with happiness. Their colors are vibrant and exquisite. The more one looks at them, the more they become alive! They literally grow on you -- They touch your soul.
Frederic likes to view things on a larger scale. He is delighted; he is now able to create his art in BIG!
The "Giants" are made to be outdoors. The technique he uses will make them resistant to the "capricious mother nature" for years to come.
He also decides to expand his horizon and begins sculpting life size characters and animals. What an interesting concept. Now we can see fun little "Doggies" grace our living rooms! They are up to 6 feet tall and are shinny with the same innocence. It looks like they come out of storybook to live in your house! It is a great feeling to come home and be greeted by "Valentine" -- She looks irresistible.
During all this time, Frederic never stops painting his gracious watercolors. They are tastefully done with a lot of elegance and a subtle hint of sophistication.
Frederic's candid way to look at life has made its way to the USA -- A stop in California in 2005, then somehow his sculptures decided to embark on a fantastic journey and make their way to the East Coast. They arrived in March 2006, and took Florida by storm!
Frederic entered the Artist's Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Art and was awarded 2 prizes for 2 different exhibitions. Frederic Lanovsky is a contemporary sculptor and creator of happiness. His passion for life can be found in his art. He often loves to display his sculptures in places not necessarily art related so that everyone gets a chance to enjoy it.
Like a lot of great masters, Frederic is ahead of his time. Who would have known back in the begining of the 20th Century that Picasso, Botero, Giacometti, Miro, Dali, Chagall or any of these extremely talented artists would become so famous around the world ?
Frederic Lanovsky is in the same league than any of them. Looking at his sculptures or his watercolors, one can tell that Frederic envisions modern art with great sensitivity.
His life has been a fantastic adventure so let's continue this endeavor forever and ever...
